What can I expect to invest in my session?
Having professional photos done is one of the most important investments you will make. When done properly by an experienced professional, this type of investment takes time, a great deal of planning, experience, education and specific training to develop the skills necessary to deliver long-lasting results worthy of your time and financial investment. You can expect to invest an average of $700 - $1500 when you choose dacia vu photography for your photography services. This investment is for a full photography experience, from planning and designing a session set to your specific needs, to wardrobe and location selection, to an unforgettable session and finally, in person delivery of your gallery full of beautiful, carefully chosen and hand edited images where we will determine the most suitable form of delivery for your needs and ideal price point - most commonly digital, album, or print. When should I book my session?
I am currently accepting bookings as far as nine months in advance. Births and other event photography should be booked as far in advance as possible, as these types of sessions require a great deal of planning and correspondence between the photographer and client.
Newborn Sessions should be booked as far in advance as possible as well. Session dates for this genre are very flexible, given the fact that births are totally unpredictable! Newborn sessions should ideally take place within the baby's first three weeks of life (more specifically between 5-21 days old). Lifestyle (natural, unposed) newborn sessions have more flexibility with timing, since we won't be posing baby in any intricate positions.
Fresh 48 Sessions should also be booked as far in advance as possible, and confirmed (or rescheduled) immediately after your baby arrives.
While it is ideal to plan in advance, and secure your booking as early as possible, I do make every effort to fit my clients in, even for last-minute bookings. If there's room on my calendar, I'll get you a session!
When do I pay my retainer?
Retainers are paid at the time of booking and are non-refundable, but 100% transferable in the event you need to reschedule your session, with a minimum of 72 hours notice. Balances must be paid in full prior to gallery release.
Where does the session take place?
Locations are determined in collaboration with each individual client prior to the session. A list of fully vetted location suggestions are provided to each client upon booking. Additional location options include client's homes, and client-preferred locations provided I have time to scout the area in advance and can ensure the location lighting and setting will allow me to deliver the very best images. How should I prepare for my session?
I provide all props, equipment, outfits and backdrops for my newborn sessions, and a beautiful variety of wardrobe options for maternity and family sessions. I also offer a customized styling service to all my family, newborn, and maternity clients. Prior to your session, I will email you with tips on the best clothing to wear, and how to best prepare yourself, your family, and your home, if applicable.
What is your turn around time?
I will deliver your fully edited gallery for viewing at the time of your Viewing and Ordering appointment, to be scheduled within two to three weeks of your photo session.
Do you offer any kind of discounts?
Yes! In honor and support of our troops, I offer a 10% discount off my session fees for all military families! (excludes Promotions and Limited Edition Minis).
What areas do you serve?
DVP serves families, maternity, newborn babies and birth clients in all of Southern New England. Sessions outside a 40 mile radius of Preston, CT will incur a small travel fee.
